Welsh Tidal Lagoon Challenge

Wales has a large tidal range on the North and South coasts and significant scope for tidal range developments. The Welsh Government has expressed interest in Tidal Range schemes and the benefits these could bring to Wales, including renewable energy, coastal protection and employment, and sent out a call for submissions under the headline “Welsh Tidal Lagoon Challenge” in the spring of 2021.  Following a study of tide range, seabed conditions, landfalls and environmental aspects, with support from consultants based in Wales with specialist knowledge of the welsh environment, TEES selected potential sites.
